MARCH 23, 2020 UPDATE
Good afternoon parents and 4th graders.  There are some documents added to my MARCH-APRIL 2020 file below as well as to the Main Fourth Grade page.  There is a curriculum document with each of the 5 main subject areas and how far along in our studies we had gotten to by March 13th.  The list is there for you to help your child review concepts I have already taught.  Also included in the file is a letter to parents with some suggestions and websites to use.  I hope this can help you in some small way during this trying time in our country.  Please let my students know I miss them terribly and would love to hear from them.  Email me for any questions, concerns, or just to say HI!  I will email back as soon as possible!

Take care everyone and stay safe!

March 18, 2020 UPDATE
Hello Parents and 4th Graders,
As you are aware of the PWCS closing, you can look here to my web page, the Glenkirk page, and the County home page for relevant updates and news.  There will be information from Mrs. Miranda and Glenkirk emailed to you as well.
Each child in my class brought home several things on Friday, March 13, that will be a help and a support to them as we navigate this time.  They wrote in their agendas a list that I will include below.
As of right now, we are following the county's guidance with no new work assigned.  If you'd like some resources, please see the right sidebar on my page for links of fun and educational things to do relating to math, reading, social studies, and science.

Each child has access to:  Dreambox (for Math support), Raz Kids (for Reading practice), and Study Island (for both Reading and Math).  All log ins and passwords were sent home.  If you are having trouble with any of these, please email me and I can individually help.
A Social Studies review packet as well as a Social Studies "quiz packet" was sent home.  These can be self-paced as the days progress.
Every child should be reading daily for 30 minutes, practicing math facts (make flashcards), sharpening up on long division, and writing in their writing journals that were brought home.  The Study Island calendar that was sent home weeks ago is a nice resource that provides practice each day and is already laid out in a calendar format.
In a folder below labeled "MARCH and APRIL 2020", I am placing the study island calendar, the social studies review packet, the social studies quiz packet, and all other pertinent information.  Please use it to download anything you need.  My other folders will remain the same, if you need something in one of them.
Keep in touch through this page, as I will be updating as information comes to me.  Email me with any questions and concerns and I will do my best to answer you, or get an answer for you.
Tell my students I miss them and hope to see them soon!

Stay healthy!
Mrs. Kendle

P.S.  I watched Mo Willems, the author of books like Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the BusThere is a Bird on Your Head, and Knuffle Bunny  hosting daily Lunch Doodles at 1:00 pm. He will show your children how to draw, doodle, and encourage writing. Wouldn't it be great if your children created a book of their own while on this extended break?! I know I have many students who would enjoy this opportunity to be creative with both drawing and writing.
